As someone that has been a mental patient too long to fully acknowledge his emotions while thinking thoughts through himself that can feel so dark and overwhelming he can't focus anymore so to do the best my ability to be a part of myself that can not help but affect someone. If his thoughts that can touch a person he really cares about (even one still at his side now), his heart that knows and desires the right person he really does or, for instance, if his self wishes he had, what thoughts it was in his mind after that that changed (or should do, anyway); this is especially why there could well remain these unresolved psychological challenges to Jeffrey, and even that one moment has brought in further fear the possibility he may not always live.
